I just attended the first black belt test that my school has had since I joined.  Our black belts test from 6 pm on Friday until 4 pm on Saturday with a few breaks for meals and sleeping.  They have sporadic endurance trials, forms through nihachi and bassai, self-defense, random display of advanced techniques, a demonstration of teaching ability, a written historical and korean language test, and they have to perform a double action break (two boards in mid air with different techniques at once) and break at least three bricks with a hand strike.

Well, it was only 2 hrs long, so not a whole lot, really. There was an essay requirement and a written test before hand. The physical portion was basics, hyung up through Sip Soo and Naihanchi Chodan, a lot of partner work and "self defense" style 1 step sparring/grabs, and I had to perform a speed breaking technique and a jump turning back kick through pine boards.
