Awesome Gambattekarate!!!

I am assuming that the larger flat part of the Eku must weigh 3 times more than the handle. Is this true?
Therefore the mechanics of turning, and striking must be very different than using a Bo staff.  Is this why I see you going up in stance, and coming down so frequently? Are you using Gravity to help manipulate that weapon?
Just doin' my best.

I am a shudokan person, and my instructor taught it to me, but I'm not sure if it's a kata specific to Shudokan. Sorry I'm not much more help on it.  :-\

Gambatte, very nicely done.

Please refresh my memory - you are a Shudokan person, right? Is that a Shudokan kata?

*blush* Thanks guys. I've used it in competition many times, but it seems such a simple kata to me after so many years of performing it. I've just recently begun to start thinking about each individual move and what it is supposed to be doing, and thus applying the proper musculature to the technique. It provides a completely different workout. LOL

Very nice!  I don't really know that kata, but I have seen it several times.

You had good blade/hood orientation, showing well that the eku is not just a bo with a flat end, as unfortunately many kata seem to treat it.

Well done.  (insert clapping smilie here)   ;)

Very cool, Gambatte!  I've never actually seen anyone use an Eku.  It's very beautiful.
