Heya guys, as I just posted in the jujitsu section - I've made it over too!
I like the new look, shame about all the old discussions getting lost.

I suppose on the bright side we're all white belts again now... :P

Cheers and big hugs

Well.. for all of their efforts to keep us away, it all backfired didn't it?

Welcome home Sifu Phil. I hope that you had a good walkabout.
Hi Supes!  :-*

Yep, they can't keep us away, even when they try - sort of like a new form of virus... ;D

ARGH! AHHHH...  Oh my heavens.. what happened?  :o

Where did Karatekorner go? Where did all that go?? Where is everyone???  :'(

I was in virtual limbo for weeks trying to see the Karatekorner forum.. did it all disappear??

ARGH!  I had JUST managed to make it to legend status too.. Gosh Bogirl, I will never find out what happens when you make it to that higher number!

Oh well.. a new home is good.. now we can fill it with all sorts of stuff.  It's like having a blank canvas to draw on.
Just doin' my best.

Being new here (22 total minutes), it all looks good to me.  Just how long has "Karate Talk" been around?

Well, KarateTalk has been around just a few days, but most of the group came from a now-defunct board, KarateKorner that was established for several years.

Hey guys, Yukan-Shinzo here... Got a new name... kobudodave. It is very fitting... seeing as I am the dojo rat, and I happen to know a kata for just about every kobudo weapon there is.

There is a way to change the layout. To get the new messages to show up like they did on KKMB, at the bottom of the page, rather than the top, go to your Profile, and on the left side you will see a button that says "Look and Layout". Click on that and uncheck the "Show most recent posts on Top" box, and hit save... Or you can just click this link and do the check box thingy I just described. http://www.karatetalk.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=36;sa=theme

On the homepage, there is a link at the bottom called "View the most recent posts on the forum."

Yes, I've been using that.  It's very helpful.  Thanks!

It will take some time to get used to the most recent post being on the TOP as opposed to being on the bottom and reading it all in order. It's odd to read posts in a bottom to top fashion. :-\

I pretty sure that most boards have this kind of layout. I think KKMB was the oddity with regards to that.

On the homepage, there is a link at the bottom called "View the most recent posts on the forum." It appears under the "Forum Stats". This is the closest thing to "Today's Topics' from the old board. Hope that helps!

I am grumpy...I know I will love it..but I don't do change well. But I love all you guys and I promise to adjust..just doesn't seem as user friendly..but again that could just be my mood. SO, I will be quiet and promise to be good and adjust. Jess

I agree with Wax that the old "today topics" tab sure was handy.

Hi to all the members who had a long debate on Master Lajos Jakab on karatekorner.
In answer to the last person who asked when his biography would be published and who the publishers are; it should be in the shops around March 11th 2009 and will also be available online. The publishers are Bookguild Publishing.
Keep in touch.  :)
