Veteran actor and martial artist Micheal Jai White seems to be really hitting his stride with film releases lately. He got his acting break playing Mike Tyson in the mid 80's in the HBO film and his first starring role in the horror/action film Spawn and even as a villian in the mega hit Batman:THe Dark Knight as the crimeboss, Gamble. Even though his martial arts films where he is exclusively the star and hero of the film are direct to video/DVD realeases, they seem to be of a much higher quality of production value, storyline and action sequences. THe lastest one I've seen is the title of this thread. He plays the charactor Bone. A mysterious man released from prison who enters the underground streetfighting game to raise money and keep a promise that is to be revealed at the end of the film. THe story we've all seen before such as VanDamme's LionHeart comes to mind but Jai White's turn at bat stands out in the crowd of similar movies. His guest stars are above average in cameo appearances such as female MMA champ Gina Carano, K-1 front man Bob Sap and NASKA forms champ Matt Mullins who is amazing in this film. I think its his debut as a actor. This film could make his a star as he holds h s own against Jai White move for move. If just for the incredible fight scenes this film is well worth the rental fee.
