Yeah that was why they threw it in MK they also threw in some other real life Asian societies as well like the White Lotus Society which was a Buddhist sect too.

Hmm, perhaps the creators of MK heard the name and thought it sounded cool? One of the troubles that we westerners have in studying Asian history is in translation. Personally, I'm never sure if two sources are talking about the same thing, because the translation could be the same for 2 different characters with very disparate meanings. And of course there's all sorts of legends, propaganda, and flat-out lies that have grown up in the martial arts world. Anybody else get frustrated about it?

Um, the Lin Kuei are the fictional ninja clan that Sub Zero belongs to from the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Brandon, I thought the same thing about the Lin Kuei until I looked at these links about the Lin Kuei they might of existed but going on what I read from both groups they're just like the Triad a band of renegade Shaolin monks that got angry at their current government at the time and decided to take back China from the current dynasty that was ruling China. If they existed that's cool with me its something that I never knew about that involves the history of China and the spread of Kung Fu in China.

Hi Blade:

Speaking of Chin Na:

Have you trained in this and if so have you found it useful in your job for nonlethal control and response?

Sincerely, NightOwl

Yes, some aspects, from what I learned as a former karateka most parts are indistinquishable actually. FInger locks armbars .

Interesting information but as a Chinese stylist and overall martial artist for many years, I never heard of the term "An Chi but as for the system or style likely not meant to be studied alone" that is common in Chinese arts. THe same can be said for Chin Na. A Chinese specialty of locking and seizing but not normally learnd as a stand alone art..

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Ah Chi Kung Fu because I heard that the style was the core style that lead to the development of Ninjutsu in Japan. Going on what I read about it so far from the internet that it was the style that the Lin Kuei used to train their Chinese versions of ninjas called Kan. I'm going to provide the links that I found about Ah Chi Kung Fu and I wouldn't mind getting some information from the Chinese martial artists with their views on Ah Chi Kung Fu. Thanks ahead of time for anyone that can provide some information on this style.
