Have any of you guys seen Ip Man, based on the life of Bruce Lee's wing chun teacher? What an awesome movie with realistic fighting (mostly) and incredible choreography. The scene in which he fights 10 Japanese black belts stand out...

I kind of like those "Flash" movie fights you see on your PC that feature the all powerful "Stick Figures".  ;D ;D ;D
The ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.

One of my favorites is from "Gross Point Blank". It's the fight between Benny "The Jet" Urquidez and John Cuzak. I can't explain why. It's a pretty cool movie as well.

According to this site which is pretty good it is supposed to be kyokushin and based on  Masutatsu Oyama's life story.

Here is the link.

I've looked around and it seems that the best you'll be able to do on a legit. DVD copy is going to be with English sub titles.   Amazon is out of stock on new copies but it looks like they have some used ones.  I'd ask the seller if it has the English subtitles before buying.

Sincerely, NightOwl

I would say that the "fighter in the wind" the whole movie was good too me, I think it's  Kyokushin karate >>>pretty sure it is ...the only thing I'm not cool with is it's in German,french,Spanish....If anyone knows where to get it in English I'm your friend for life :-) better yet,If you can point me in the direction of it that would be better

Ahhh, the Quiet Man.  Great flick!

I think my favorite fight scene would be Tommy's fight in Best of the Best.  While the Tae Kwon Do was fantastic, but an average fight, the end showed the spirit behind competitive martial arts.

As good as alot of the Martial arts fights are like the ones in Drunken master, House of flying Daggers, Crouching Tiger hidden dragon, Enter the Dragon, Warriors of Virtue, Taken, The Forbidden Kingdom, The 47 Ronin, the Rocky series and many many more.

I think my all time favorite is still the extended fight sene in The Quiet Man

And now, for a fun topic: let's share our favorite martial arts movie fights. And please explain why do you recommend it. Was it the choreography, the stunts, the impossible odds, the editing, or something else?

I really like the one in "The Protector" in which Tony Jaa's character fights his way up a stair (about five floors long) against multiple opponents. The editing and pacing, as well as the non stop action has to be sen to be believe it.

Common guys, share yours.
