Yup, but the bad guys were a KMA I believe.

Probably not.  They called their teacher "Sensei" which is a Japanese term, and the school name was "Cobra Kai".  "Kai" roughly translates to "school" in Japanese.

Actually that was similar to Goju-Ryu karate with the circular blocking.

Karate Kid definitely had Goju in it.  Mr. Miyagi's name is obviously paying homage to Chojun Miyagi, the founder of Goju-ryu karate.  In the third movie where Daniel performs a kata in the tournament, he's running the Goju version of seiunchin.

I've been trying to think of some TKD/KMA movies to watch. "Best of the Best" was one (an early one at that) can anyone think of some others?

I trained with the Rhee brothers (Octogon and Best of the Best) when they were teenagers in SF.  They were a few years younger than me.  Their main instructor also had a 7th degree in japanese karate.

The movie that first turned me on to korean kicking was "Billyjack".  "I'm going to take this foot and put it on the left side of your face and there is not a damn thing you can do about it..."
