You Got me with this One Blade:

I haven't watched a Van Damme flick in years. But I think I'll take a look see at this one when the Dearly Beloved goes out of town next month.

If you haven't watch a Van Damme film in years I recommend "JCVD", which as Bladesaint referred in the previous post, jump started his carreer. They guy can act and be likeable at the same time!

I was pleasently surprised at how good Regeneration actually was, after VanDamme's downfall years ago from the A-list in Hollywood he's been struggling to hold on to his career ever since with the straight to video market and run of disapointing films. A big turnaround was that big inde semi fictional documentary film about himself a few years ago helped jump start his film career again

Universal Soldier3: Regeneration...Worth a look!

 Hey Gang,

I took a chance and rented the 3rd Installment of the Universal Soldier franchise of Jean Claude VanDamme. I was very satisfied. It seems to follow a trend lately started by Stallone in the last Rambo movie, most likely VanDamme's last portrayal of the charactor Luc Devereau, ends the final installment of the series grittier and ultra violent. The 2nd Unversal Soldier film was perhaps the worst of the series and made me hesitate taking a chance on the 3rd. The martial arts and action sequences of this latest film has a heavy emphasis on MMA techniques and features several UFC and other MMA champions in firsttime acting roles which surprisingly were handled well. They just may have something going for them when they retire from the ring. The knife fighting sequences are intense and impressive. One of my favorite features of the new film is the return of Dolf Lundgren in his role reprisal as Sgt Andrew Scott. VanDamme's nemisis from the original film who was missing in the 2nd film. Lungdren has always been an underrated actor and despite nearly 20 years since his last time out working with VanDamme his was in impressive form and made you wish to see more of him in the film. The plot of this latest installment of UniSol is the kidnapping of the children of the Russian leader by dissident terrorists and held captive at the old Chernobyl nuclear plant site unless the Russian Govnt releases over 100 polictical prisonors not only will the children be executed but the nuclear plant detonated spilling radiation throughout the region. The rescue forces attempts have been stopped time and again by an unstoppable, seemingly unkillable single soldier who they suspect must be the latest generation superior model, Universal soldier created by a disgruntled scientist dismissed from the US government when the UniSol program was shutdown a few years ago. US forces are forced to reactivate the remaining original UNiSols from frozen storage at a secret facility in Langley Va.but even they are no match for this new prototype Unisol aka the NGU. Finally they Locate VanDamme's charactor who has been on behavoral mod therapy for years to supress his violent traits only to be thrown back into the mix as a warrior again.
